My Story
My passion for mental health stems from personal experience. As a teen I struggled with feelings of anxiety and depression. Through psychotherapy I developed techniques that helped me understand, and manage the issues that impacted my mental health. As a therapist, I recognize the inherent value of this shared point-of-view, and utilize this perspective to bridge the gap between client and therapist.
My clinical background is fostered in the care of adolescents and adults. I've gained valuable experience providing cognitive, behavioral, and solution based therapy to individuals in out-patient programming, as well as in-patient care. I earned my Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health from Wayne State University, with a focus on Community Counseling.
I love working with people and helping others achieve good mental health practices. I recently became certified in Collaborative Divorce, helping families navigate the emotional and psychological effects of divorce. When I am not in private practice, I advocate for mental health awareness, human rights and animal welfare.
